Doubleview roller shutters

Doubleview's burglary rate sits below the metropolitan average. WA Police recorded 31 burglaries in the suburb in 2025, or 3.4 per 1,000 residents, compared with 4.0 across metropolitan Perth. As with every suburb, the figure includes homes and businesses.

The count is lower than it was. There were 42 burglaries in 2021, so 2025 is down 26.2%, and further back, in 2017, the figure was 84.

Where a shutter helps is at the openings. Closed over a window or glass door it is a physical barrier, and forcing a way past it is slower and noisier than with glass alone. Pair it with the simple measures in the WA Police burglary flyer, such as deadlocks on external doors and a house that can be seen from the street.

The name was first used about 1930 by developers Dudley and Dwyer, but the City of Stirling's thematic history says development did not begin to accelerate until the government began providing returned soldiers homes in the northern section of Doubleview after World War II.

At the 2021 Census, 75.0% of occupied dwellings were separate houses, a little below the Greater Perth figure of 77.8%. Semi-detached, terrace and townhouses made up 22.7%, and flats 2.4%. Home ownership was 66.7%, below 70.4% for Greater Perth, and the median age was 37.
